Built to the Core — Discover What’s Inside a Tamed Ocean Hot Tub

What sets a Tamed Ocean wood fired hot tubs apart isn’t just how it looks — it’s how it’s made.

Crafted With Purpose: Manufacturing Philosophy

Every detail, from the first weld to the final finish, is chosen with purpose. This is where craftsmanship meets engineering.

We open the lid and show you exactly what goes into our tubs — the foundations, materials, systems, and finishes that deliver not only beauty but real-world durability.

Explore the components that make a Tamed Ocean tub more than just a soak — it’s an investment in quality, comfort, and long-lasting design.

It All Begins With
A Strong Foundation

Most tubs sit on wood. Ours stand on strength.

At Tamed Ocean, we believe every great soak starts with a solid base. While many hot tubs rely on untreated timber, our tubs are built differently — starting with reinforced structures designed to last.

Enhanced Wooden Structure for Lasting Quality

Rather than basic wooden cross supports, our upgraded foundation uses stainless steel pads to elevate and protect the structure from direct ground contact. This drastically reduces the risk of rot, moisture damage, and structural decay over time.

At Tamed Ocean, this enhanced base is standard — a thoughtful detail that ensures long-term durability from the ground up.

The Signature of a Truly Durable Hot Tub

Upgrade to a full stainless steel foundation for the ultimate in durability and peace of mind.

Built to resist moisture, warping, and decay, this robust structure delivers:

  • Maximum Strength – Withstands extreme weather and heavy loads with ease.

  • Extended Lifespan – Adds years to your hot tub's structural integrity.

  • Premium Construction – Precision-built for long-term reliability and elevated design.

Ideal for those who want unmatched performance from the ground up.

The Shell: Where Comfort Begins

Smooth, Glossy, Resilient Fibreglass

Our hot tubs feature moulded fibreglass shells that are not only smooth to the touch, but also highly resistant to staining, cracking, and wear. The ergonomic seating supports full-body relaxation, while the high-gloss finish enhances the spa-like experience.

The Cladding: Beauty Meets Durability

Thermowood Cladding – Naturally Durable, Instantly Elegant

Every Tamed Ocean hot tub exterior is crafted from premium thermowood – a material chosen for its exceptional dimensional stability, resilience, and natural resistance to rot and fungal decay. This high-performance wood ensures your hot tub not only lasts through years of use but retains its structural integrity in all weather conditions.

But durability is only half the story.

Thermowood brings out the natural grain and rich character of the wood, giving each tub a distinctive, timeless finish. To elevate this even further, we treat every cladding with a coat of natural oil, deepening its warm, earthy tone while enhancing its resistance to the elements.

The result? A luxurious, low-maintenance exterior that smells as good as it looks, breathes naturally, and blends beautifully into any garden.

Choose Your Heat: Wood-Fired or Pellet-Powered

Integrated Wood Heater

Our integrated hot tub heater features a 30 kW stainless steel stove, crafted from durable AISI 316 steel. The burning chamber, made from 2-3 mm thick steel, ensures long-lasting performance and durability. Each stove also includes chimney protection and a rain cap to shield against the elements. Additionally, the stove is equipped with an easy-access valve, making it simple to empty the water from the system when needed.

Advantages

Space-Saving Design:

An integrated heater hot tub requires less space outside, making it ideal for smaller outdoor areas.

Faster Heating:

Because it requires less water to reach full capacity, the integrated heater heats the water more quickly than an external wood stove.

External Wood Heater

Our premium external stove features a powerful 30 kW heating capability and is crafted from AISI 316 stainless steel, ensuring efficient and reliable performance. The stove is designed with durability in mind, providing a robust heating solution for any hot tub setup. For added convenience, it includes an easy-access valve to make draining the system simple and hassle-free

Advantages

More Spacious Interior:

With the heater positioned outside the tub, an external stove hot tub provides more interior space, allowing for a roomier and more comfortable soaking experience.

Easier Replacement:

The external placement of the stove makes it more accessible, simplifying maintenance and replacement when necessary.

Smart Pellet Heater

Our pellet heating hot tub features a state-of-the-art heating system made from AISI 316 stainless steel, ensuring excellent durability and corrosion resistance. The heater design includes an additional door for easy access to the pellet hopper and an electric control panel for seamless operation. With patented technology, this system offers both high efficiency and robust performance, making it a top-tier choice for hot tub heating.

Advantages

Eco-Friendly:

Uses pellets instead of logs, producing minimal smoke and reducing your carbon footprint.
Fully Automated: Can be controlled through integrated control panel or via your mobile phone for convenient, hands-free operation.

Quick Heating:

The powerful 30 kW heater rapidly heats the water, saving you time.

Cost-Efficient:

Operating costs are up to three times lower than electric hot tubs.

Add-On Comfort Systems

Jet Systems – Tailored for the Perfect Soak

Our wood-fired hot tubs are fitted with high-quality water pumps, carefully matched to the number of jets to ensure optimal performance and balance.

By aligning the pump strength with the number of jets, we make sure the water pressure is just right — never too weak, never overpowering.

Our most popular and comprehensive setup is 15 jets, especially ideal for larger groups or those looking for a full-body massage experience. With this option, custom configurations are available — for example, we can direct 6 jets specifically to target the back.

If you’d like something truly bespoke — such as additional jets for foot massage or a completely tailored layout — we’d love to make it happen.

Air Bubble System – Gentle Power, Deeper Relaxation

Our wood-fired hot tubs can be fitted with a dedicated air blower system, available with 12 or 16 air outlets, powered by a 0.7 kW air pump.

These outlets are thoughtfully arranged to release thousands of fine air bubbles that gently rise through the water, creating a soft, effervescent massage. It’s not just relaxing — it helps increase circulation and ease muscle tension.

Looking to create a spa-like atmosphere in your garden? This upgrade brings the luxury of air therapy into your daily unwind.

Water Filtration: Sand Filter

Choosing the Right Option for You

Sand Filtration System

Like a swimming pool, our hot tubs are equipped with built-in connection valves to support an external sand filtration system.

Filtration is often a matter of personal preference. While clean water is essential, many users simply choose to change the water after each use — in which case, a sand filtration system may not be necessary. However, all our hot tubs come pre-fitted with filter connections by default. These not only make draining the water faster and more efficient, but also allow you to add a filtration system later with ease.

Hot tubs ordered with a full sand filtration setup include a dedicated filter cover box as standard.
For those who want future flexibility without committing to the full system upfront, we also offer the option to include just the filter box and connection ports.

Mood Enhancer: The LED Lights

Choosing the Right Option for You

RGB Led Lights

LED Lighting Options

Our hot tubs come with a variety of LED lighting configurations to enhance your soaking experience. Lighting is available both underwater and externally:

  • Internal LED Lights are designed to illuminate the water, creating a beautiful glow. These are available in two configurations:

    • One or Two Medium-Sized LEDs positioned near the heater side — ensuring they’re never blocked by a bather’s back.

    • Twelve Small LEDs distributed throughout the fibreglass shell for an even, subtle ambient effect.

The most popular and often recommended setup is two medium LED lights, as they strike the best balance between brightness and simplicity. However, a single LED is usually sufficient for smaller tubs or personal use.

  • External LED Lights are positioned around the base of the tub, offering ambient lighting — especially effective during evening use, adding both mood and visibility.

For larger models like Tarkine and Daintree, we recommend the two-LED setup, especially if multiple people will be using the hot tub at the same time.

Heat Retention: Hot Tub Cover

Choosing the Right Option for You

Hot Tub Cover Options

Wood-fired hot tubs come with two cover options: fibreglass or foldable faux leather. In practice, however, there’s only one truly practical choice — faux leather.

Why?
Fibreglass lids, while sturdy, can be cumbersome to remove, difficult to store, and risk scratching the surface of your tub. They’re simply not user-friendly.

On the other hand, faux leather covers offer numerous advantages:

  • Enhance heat retention by up to 65%

  • Made from high-density EPS foam, vacuum-sealed in plastic to prevent water absorption

  • Built-in filling pads between the fold for added insulation

  • Lightweight and easy to handle

  • Equipped with straps to keep it secure on windy nights

  • UV-resistant and durable

  • Available in three colours: Black, Grey, and Brown

Faux leather covers combine function, convenience, and aesthetic appeal — making them the smart and preferred choice for most owners.

Built-In Essentials Included in Every Tub

We’ve made it simple. Every hot tub we manufacture comes with a baseline of quality, durability, and comfort — no upgrades needed. These are the non-negotiables, the features we believe every hot tub should have from the start.

Wood Fired hot tub essentials

Chimney with Heat Guard

Every external heater comes pre-fitted with a chimney heat guard — not just for safety, but because it also looks sharp. It wraps neatly around the chimney, keeping kids, pets, and hands safe while giving the whole setup a finished, solid look.

Wall & Bottom Insulation

No one likes wasting time or firewood. All our tubs come with full insulation built into the walls and bottom — not a bolt-on extra. It helps the tub heat up faster and retain that warmth longer, even in colder months. Less fire-tending, more soaking.

High-Flow Drain Tap

We’ve fitted a high-flow tap to make draining quick and painless. Whether you’re refreshing the water or just packing away, it saves time and effort — no fiddling with hoses or buckets.

Stainless Steel Materials

From the burner to the fasteners, we use stainless steel where it counts. It holds up to heat, moisture, and time. No rust, no rot, no fuss.

Reinforced Straps

All tubs are reinforced with external stainless steel straps — they’re not there for decoration. They keep everything tight, secure, and solid over years of heating, cooling, and moving.

Mini Bar / Drinks Holder

Every tub comes with a built-in drink holder because let’s be honest — a proper soak isn’t complete without a cold drink in reach.

They’re not just “add-ons” — they’re essentials that make the whole experience better, last longer, and feel right.
